frequently asked questions.
I want to renovate, where do I start?
If it is a large renovation or addition you will need to see an Architect then they will go through the council process for you. We are happy to put you in contact with our Architects to get you in the right direction. If it is a non-structural renovation, just give us a call for a consultation and we would be happy to come and see you and answer any questions you have.
I have a section to build my dream home, where to from here?
A new build always starts with you writing down, taking photos and finding aspects of other homes that you love and meeting with an Architect for them to design you dream home. From there they will submit the plans for council consent. While the plan is in with the council, we like to meet with you and get a set of the plans so we can have a good look over them. This is so we can formulate a timeline and get quotes for different aspects of the build where needed. Once consent is approved from council, the fun part begins and that is the building of you dream home.
Can I make changes during the building process?
Yes you can. We pride ourselves on being on the same page as the client and to provide you with your perfect living space, we understand there will be tweaks to the design to suit certain lifestyles.
Do you have sub trades to complete all parts of a build?
Yes we do, we work closely with a group of sub trades that we know deliver a superior job that we expect from all services. Having a close working relationship with these businesses makes for an easy build.
Can I get a fixed price at the beginning of the job?
Yes you can, we understand that building a house can be financially stressful. After an in-depth consultation and with the correct information we can give you a fixed quote at the beginning of the job.
Can I live in my house while you renovate?
Yes you can, we have done several renovations where the owner has stayed in the house while work goes on around them. We make this process as less intrusive as possible with tidy work ethics and clear communication with the client.
Do I have to deal with the council or will the builders do that for me?
No you don’t. The plans will have a consent stamp from the council, this gives you the go ahead to start you build. There will be council inspection through the build but that is all organised by the builder at the stages where it is needed.
